More than just money
Marriage & Money goes well beyond traditional financial guidance — Givens has assembled a wealth of other experts, resources and takeaways for attendees, covering estate planning, taxes, risk management and more. Participants in the program will benefit from:
- Assistance with understanding their current cash flow, and how it impacts budgeting
- Advice on finding the right financial strategies for both day-to-day living and retirement planning — and how to best execute those strategies
- A detailed overview of common issues faced by married couples, such as communication challenges
- A questionnaire for each spouse to illustrate attitudes about money
- A sample cash-flow analysis, balance sheet and financial plan
- A list of resources, including financial planners, CPAs, estate-planning attorneys, etc.
No Sales, Just Insight
This program is designed so couples learn about financial issues without sales pressure. Participants can utilize their new knowledge to begin addressing these issues on their own, or find a trusted professional to help on their journey.
The average age of engaged couples today is +30, as people are getting married later in life, and a growing number of people marry more than once. This means partners enter their relationships with more “stuff," like: Established Careers, 401(k)s, Real Estate, Insurance, Employee Benefits, Stock Options, Businesses, and—perhaps most importantly—an established money value system.
These aspects are typically beyond the themes addressed in marriage counseling. The Marriage and Money workshop was specifically developed as an extension of pre-marital counseling that some couples receive before marriage.
Our goal is to help couples simplify their life merger by breaking it into digestible pieces and helping couples build a roadmap for financial success—together.
Not Just for Engaged Couples
Marriage and Money isn't only for engaged couples or newlyweds. The program is relevant and useful for:
- Already-married couples
- Expecting parents
- People preparing for career or business transitions
- Couples looking to retire soon
- Individuals and families seeking assistance with family-care planning.
